New York State teachers who hold professional classroom teaching certificates, educational leadership certificates and level III teaching assistant certificates must complete 100 clock hours of acceptable Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) during their registration period.
Acceptable CTLE shall be study in pedagogy or in the content area of any certificate title held by the individual and include any required study in language acquisition addressing the needs of English language learners.

Kristina A. Holzweiss is an educator with 27 years of experience. She began her career as a 7th grade English teacher, and then spent 14 years as a middle school librarian.
